Thanks to Veronica Balmont on Twitter, I discovered Plurk which is great in terms of graphics design, and with a stream line where you can navigate on!
Don’t try to understand what is the business model, why should I use it…
Come on just try it, and let’s see how this will work!

I lived a very strange moment today during a business conference where I was meeting a lot of people I haven’t seen since I started my new venture with Jacques Froissant.
Thinking of it for the last time now, this is what I could say:
- Business relation is a Human relation, on the top of things. Whatever conflicts you can have, or just see. But never forget that this is all about Human relations.
- Stay calm. Never be aggressive. Fundamentally once you lose control, just consider that you’re finished. This is the worst thing that can happen in business situation. People will know. And potentially you will lose part of your influence.
- Don’t be afraid of your competitors, don’t fear the competition. It makes you stronger. Struggle for your job, your network, your revenues, your reputation, your influence, is not street fight. It comes from what you know and how you use this knowledge, amongst other things. The strength of your spark light comes from the way you generate it, not the way you use it.
- Don’t be obsessed by codes. Codes are traps potentially. Codes are wrong direction sometimes. Open your eyes, see how world is changing, adapt yourself.
The worst thing to me is the negative impact this stupid situation was for a French nice person living in California I was starting to introduce to some people I know. She did not understand and she’s right. Just another French story to tell later. End of story.
Videogame: Conference not to miss in Paris June 5th! June 1, 2008

I’ll miss this coming Thursday a (potentially) very interesting conference dedicated to videogame in Paris, at “La Cité des Sciences”, June 5th: “Jeux vidéos : création et recherche”.
Not exactly the speakers, but the topics reflects to me some keys of this art:
-Creation (Stephane Bole here, Nintendo is on the place!)
-Research (Nicolas Gaume here, always there when it’s about videogame)
-Immersion (Eric Viennot is one of the speaker, I loved to play with my son and “Oncle Ernest“)
-Emotion
-Body (Wii games, avatars…)
I haven’t been much involved in creation but from what I saw in my recent experience on videogame was the lack of emotion in creation, promotion.
Videogame is (to me) absolutely linked to this basic point, and I fully agree about what I’ve heard once from Sylvain Huet, formet Cryo guy now working at Musinaut: he mentioned that as a key element. And he knows what he’s talking about!
Maybe there are to much videogame companies quoted in stock exchange, and now there are only rooms for licence as a mass market product. Very funny when you know that beside 10 games produced by a publisher, only one or two will be successful and reach break even. Out of all succesful casual games distributed on Nintendo DS for example, very cheap but sold well!
Well that’s just a dream, because creating, developing, promoting is game means a massive amount of money. And look the story of Infogrammes…
Guys, just give us more emotion!

JOHNNY WINTER - Jumping Jack Flash (OGWT, 1974)
I share some words today on Twitter today with @lincompetent and @sarkopako I haven’t met yet IRL as we use to say (in real life, that’s the reason why I give their avatar name).
I’m using Foxy Tunes to send links on Twitter regarding music I’m listening to a iTunes.
Everything started with Rory Gallagher I was listening… @sarkopako said it was his favorite guitar man… Then I talked about Johnny Winter… and @lincompetent sent the link to this video on Youtube…
I don’t often meet people who are listening those two bluesmen. Twitter Power!

“Sega has now sold over 8 million units of Sonic the Hedgehog on mobile in Europe and the US” says ME.
I’ve always said, and remain to, that SEGA on mobile gaming would be a killer publisher…
For many reasons:
- SEGA is known by everybody, eveywhere
- The brand is considered very positively… I always got smiles from people I met during more than 2 years
- The same for Sonic: well known and loved by young and older!
- Game concept: many of SEGA games are adapted to mobile handsets… Like Sonic, ChuChuRockets, Alex Kid and many others… Sometimes you just need one thumb and that’s it! Don’t ask for more to someone who wanna play 5 minutes on his phone.
- SEGA has developed in Japan a HUDGE business, with a river of games… Once well co-ordinated, in Europe for sure and in America, SEGA could be one of the unique competitor face to EA, which has to me the biggest potential to be the n°1 without any discussion, as well as on PC and console.
