Neurosky: Future is now! March 31, 2008
Posted by philj in Web.add a comment
I remembered the deal signed with Neurosky and Musinaut announced weeks ago while there was some famous bloggers conversation on Twitter today.
The idea was…”let’s go to sleep blablabla…we could tweet while we sleep blablabla”. No matter what details are, they are just competing in the most tweets can made per day… and they are both very strong at this game.
Back to business.
Neurosky (based in San Jose, California) has developed cost-effective and “wearable” (dry) bio-sensor and signal processing technology specifically designed for end-use in the consumer market.
They have signed some deals: amongst those one with Sega Toys (world is small…) and Musinaut. Regarding the second project, the idea is that headset captors detect music listeners emotions to drive him into several skin available of songs developed through MXP4 technology. No that’s not science fiction…
So, maybe Jack Dorsey should help his addicted customers by discussing with Neurosky to provide a connected solution for tweeting dreams.
Would you like to tweet your dreams? I would, I never remember my dreams. Every morning.

Linkedin to celebrate 20 Mio users March 29, 2008

Wednesday March 26 was a very special day. First this was my emotional day. Linkedin has been a core tool for my achievements in my last position…and still is.
This is the key business social network platform to me, and I have many numbers to highlight this:
-larger of network…and it’s still progressing
-I’ve been successfully directly introduce to many people many times…and that’s still true
-number of people requesting to join my network, not far to be a daily thing sometimes
-and I can mention also the number of people trying to reach some contacts through me
I don’t give any figures, no ego-post here. The quality of people you can connect with in terms of focus has no equivalence neither the potential in terms of quantity.
There are new features like the Company News being tested at the moment with some key companies (Electrolux is +80K people worldwide), and some news are about to come (french version?). Linkedin joined the Open Social movement, and there are high qualified profile here, not only technical ones.
The last agreement signed with APEC in France or Business Week in UK is a sign of the beginning of expansion strategy.
There are many partnerships to explore, and the former ideas I wrote when I was suggested as French Ambassador for Linkedin are still valid. So now I wait for some call from UK for being in position to develop and achieve them:
-mobile purposes
-geographical expansion
-partnerships
-and some additional…

Whatever the opinion you can have on Seesmic as a whole, two things:
-Video is gonna be more and more predominant in Internet use
-Cyrille knows the story, and he’s telling it well
This video is in French
Facebook is not just what you think it is March 27, 2008

I had the chance to be received by Henri Moissinac, Head of Mobile at Facebook.
But not any chance that I do not fulfill my commitment: I promised I would say nothing and I will. That’s reciprocity, and in fact we had just global introduction to what Facebook is.
And my conclusion would be: just hear the words from Jesus and not only the saints. Or the rumour. Or journalists, bloggers
The fact is that explained direct, then it comes to you a better understanding of what things are.
I do not change my mind regarding some issues (privacy, ownerships of brands and events, etc.) but I do not feel convinced that Facebook is just this killing machine.
There are space for other projects in social community, web2.0 things, group & event management web sites.
Just see how you could use Facebook: web API, mobile API.
I realized that on mobile area, there are some nice stuff to do.
Contact me if you need, my consultant prices are fair.

ebay is the big thing! March 26, 2008

Profitability and web are not always compatible…
So many projects started as “we will see”, “I see it”, “We’ll make it”, “I know a lot of people”. No, just kidding…
Anyway ebay gives to all the lesson of profitability based on a real service provided for you and I. Whatever the issues the platform meets at the moment when registering, etc., no other direction than expanding (today’s growth of new users is the same than a big worldwilde network platform).
This profitable situation gives chance to ebay to be prepared to coming opportunities (they have radar in place), develop their core business, “invest” in clean tech and charity…
For a financial guy, Valeo, GE, amongst others are good reference. ebay is another one… even if obviously there are very few others you all know.
