Mobile Web Summit: please stop this 2.0 thing! May 12, 2008

I was reading my daily news on Services Mobiles edited by Christophe Romei when I saw this: Mobile Web 2.0 Summit June 11th and 12th in London!
I’m not that cynical, and amongst speakers there are some people I know very involved in their position but also who knows to handle some topics with care.
So I join some voices here and there to say: stop using this “2.0″ miracle concept!
Mobile Web has not yet reached 0.5 level. Can you tell me the situation of i-mode in Europe? Can you give me some evidence that Mobile Web (in Europe) has started in some places? Can you give me some reasonable and clear data offer you can find at the moment? Speed of browsing? Quality of look & feel?
Mobile Web, through it’s distribution situation, has not moved since 2005 when I started to work in this industry for a video game publisher. Or just a few maybe…
Some of the topics:
- Mobile Web 2.0 – uniqueness that creates new value
- Mining for data – what tools can we use to understand the Mobile Web 2.0 user?
- Determining who has the value in the value chain (good question, we know the answer…for the moment)
- Mobile Web 2.0 – debating the definition
- The role of Mobile Web 2.0 in advertising and brand impact - revenue potential or just another fad?
- Two Tribes or One World? – sharing content between web 2.0 and the Mobile Web 2.0 experience
- Blogger panel session: this year’s hits and misses
- Ensuring excellent end to end user experience and quality of service
- Operator Strategy – Mobile Web 2.0 and the networks
Come on, is that really topics of a matured business? Unfortunately I’ll be somewhere in Mountain View in the US at this date, and mobile is just a part of my new activities. So will not attend anyway!
I remain passionate about mobile but compared to the experience I faced for almost 3 years, I can see a kind of gap… If you want a comparison, mobile web is in kind of situation when web himself was proposed by companies like AOL. You said? 10 years ago?
Guys, good luck and enjoy the show!
Monetizing the next generation of mobile web: well just start to monetize Osney Media with 2.000€…

The Academy-Award® nominated animated short-film tells the story of a lonely inventor, whose colorless existence is brightened only by dreams of the carefree bliss of his youth.
By day, he is trapped in a dehumanizing job in a joyless world. But by night, he tinkers away on a visionary invention, desperate to translate his inspiration into something meaningful.
When his invention is complete, it will change the way people see the world. But he will find that success comes at a high price, as it changes himself, as well.

Is life a turning circle or is there any exit? Just look after the light, and you’ll find it. My vision of this poetry.

As a singer (and former singer in a Choir)…
As an new entrepreneur who aims to bridge companies between France and United States of america…
I am more than happy to post this video. Nice job…bravo!
The story:
Leading film-makers are seeking to change the way we think about other countries. This is one of a powerful series of films to be shown on Pangea Day, May 10, “the day the world comes together through film”.
See all six anthems. It’s time to imagine a different world.
Here a French choir sings the United States national anthem.

New pitch: Achievement is now May 4, 2008

A blog is not a big thing. But it’s moving, changing, and that’s why it’s a kind of interesting stuff.
Time now to move through a new step after this “I wanna get what I don’t have”.
I still do, but now it’s time for achievement. So let’s focus on that, and just say it. Loud? No, no reason for that. Nobody cares anyway ![]()

A Barcamp dedicated to WordPress is organized tomorrow in Paris.
I could not miss it, even if I’m supposed to do something else on a Saturday. So what!
I’ll try to do a 30 minutes session with the following topic: “What could I do with WordPress on my mobile phone?”.
In fact, I have no specific idea, you’ll find best state of art here about WordPress and Mobile phone done by Andy Moore (thank you Rudy).
Some thoughts:
- Post from your cellphone
- Cellphone or iPhone: same stuff?
- Audio plug in?
- Video plug in?
- Picture plug in?
- Localisation?
- What can you do with your SMS?
- Security WordPress policy with mobile connectivity
I’m more expecting people to talk and participate. I’m maybe n expert on mobie stuff, but too many pragmatic now
Details for WordCamp Paris tomorrow here.

I’m pleased to announced the first Ignite in Paris to come… book your evening on June 20th!
Ignite? I have already published some videos from the Web2.0 chapter in San Fran last week… I really loved the concept and the atmosphere. Check this new one, and start your work for maybe be on the show next month…
The pitch is “Around the world geeks have been putting together Ignite nights to show their answers”. Great!
Giving access to the audience for people, the one you don’t know, the one you do no meet offently, the one you’re not used to listen…is to me a real interesting thing. That’s one of the main reason why I proposed to O’Reilly team to do it…
Again it’s late, more to come by this Monday!

I use now to follow Daves Mathews tweet since I met this guy at Web2.0 Expo…
He has a big leadership in talking to right people.
Then I saw this tweet from yesterday: “Nite kids! Early morning in the car to the Silly Corn Valley tomorrow…”.
What for, Dave?!
To follow Dave tweet that’s here.
